the daily grind

Such a beautiful morning in Chicago today as I am on my way to work.  It sucks that I will be inside all day.  When I entered the train this morning, no one was on it EXCEPT a pigeon. Whoa random. It flew out at the next stop.

So. I have a bit to catch up on after my long weekend.

I started this morning with a green monster smoothie.  Mine contained spinach, 2 frozen bananas, almond milk, chia seeds, flaxseeds, and a scoop of sunflower seed butter. Yum!

The boyfriend has been sick all weekend so I don’t know if he will be going in to work today.  He took off yesterday and just took it easy, as in watching football all day.  I hope I don’t catch a cold from him!

Yesterday I made him a grilled

sandwich with carrot soup and oranges.  Have to get that vitamin C!

Now to talk about: the vet visit!  It went a lot better than expected.  Kiba was pretty calm and he took his 3 shots like a pro! The vet said he is the only cat she’s seen take this one particular shot so well. Its this huge gadget that forces the medicine out like a mist kinda. Idk. Anyways, he is all caught up on his shots and she told us to watch a particular knot on his side.  She said it may be an old injury from playing.

After the vet we took him to petsmart and I spent waaaay too much money on him, but he loves his new toys!

Next month my mom is coming into town for a conference and I am pretty excited. She hasn’t seen the apartment I’m in now or the new kitten that we got of course. This means I have got to clean, clean, clean!

After work tonight I have a few things that I need to do: write on thesis and write my reaction paper. Booooo! Can’t I be done with school already?

Six feet under is ridiculously addicting. My boyfriend and I watched it for most of the day, only stopping to shower and workout.

Lunch: Toast with guacamole & turkey, banana

Workout: 20min, 1.31mi, 119cal (couch to 5k); 13min, .64mi, 63cal (walk)

My leg started hurting so I had to cut my workout short.

School starts back up tomorrow; I enjoyed my lazy four day weekend, but it is back to the grind tomorrow.  I am nervous about one of my classes because the teacher is mean and I may have to summarize an article that I read, but I really don’t know if I can since I have read eight of them this weekend alone.  It is hard to keep them straight.

I hope that I finally get my thesis edits back because it has been about 5 weeks since I turned it in.

going the distance

Kiba decided to help me write my reaction paper for class.  This basically sums up my morning: reading & writing a paper.  Kiba fell asleep on the job.

I thought today was going to be another boring study day, but I got a nice surprise for me around 3:00.  The boyfriend came home early from work!  I couldn’t believe it!

We ended up going to see the movie Going the Distance with a friend.  It was so hilarious and raunchy.  I loved it.

We went to the gym right after and got in a quick workout  before Ballys closed.  I started the Couch to 5k program and completed the first workout.  It was a little under my fitness level, but I am going to continue it.
